Rodolfo Aínsa (28 February 1952 – 26 April 2021) was a Spanish businessman and politician affiliated with the centre‑right People's Party (Partido Popular, PP). He is most noted for his service in regional and national public office in Aragon.
Early life and career
Aínsa was born in Huesca, Aragon. Prior to entering politics, he was involved in the construction and services sector, holding management positions in private‑sector companies operating in the region.
Political career
- Provincial Council of Huesca: Aínsa served as president of the Diputación Provincial de Huesca from 1995 to 2011, overseeing provincial administration and the coordination of municipal services.
- Senate of Spain: He was elected to the Senate of Spain representing the Huesca constituency, serving from 2011 to 2015. During his tenure, he participated in legislative committees related to infrastructure, transport, and regional development.
- Party roles: Within the PP, Aínsa held various regional leadership positions, contributing to the party’s organizational structure in Aragon.
Later life and death
After leaving the Senate, Aínsa returned to private business activities and remained active in local civic affairs. He died on 26 April 2021 in Zaragoza at the age of 69; the cause of death was reported as a prolonged illness.
