Robyn Crawford is an American author and former creative director and executive assistant, best known for her long-term personal and professional relationship with the singer Whitney Houston. Crawford met Houston in 1980 while both were working as summer camp counselors in East Orange, New Jersey. As Houston's career launched in the mid-1980s, Crawford became a constant presence in her inner circle, serving in roles including assistant, creative director, and eventually executor of Houston's estate.
Crawford largely remained out of the public spotlight during the height of Houston's fame. Following Houston's death in 2012, Crawford published a memoir titled A Song for You: My Life with Whitney Houston (2019). In the book, she confirmed that she and Houston had a romantic relationship in the early 1980s, which she stated ended as Houston's career escalated and the pressures of fame and public scrutiny increased. Crawford has stated that she wrote the memoir to provide a personal perspective on Houston's life, countering what she viewed as sensationalized media narratives.
Since the publication of her memoir, Crawford has made limited public appearances, primarily in support of the book and to discuss Houston's legacy. She is married to Lisa Hintelmann and has two children.
