Roberto Strauss

Roberto Strauss is a former competitive swimmer and aquatic educator known for his contributions to the sport of swimming and water safety. He represented Mexico at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany, where he competed in three events: the men's 400-meter freestyle, the 1500-meter freestyle, and the 4x200-meter freestyle relay.

Following his competitive career, Strauss established himself as a coach and educator in the United States. In 1982, he founded "Miami Swimming" in Florida, a program dedicated to competitive training and aquatic instruction. His work has focused significantly on pedagogical approaches to swimming for children and the prevention of drowning through early childhood education.

Strauss’s professional contributions have been recognized by several international aquatic organizations. In 2011, he received the Paragon Award for Safety from the International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF), an honor given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of water safety. He has also been a member of the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) and has served as a speaker at various international coaching clinics, sharing expertise on stroke technique and program management.
