Robert Spagnoletti

Robert Spagnoletti is an American jurist currently serving as a Surrogate Court Judge for New York County (Manhattan), New York. He was elected to the position in November 2021 and began his term in January 2022.

Career Prior to his election, Spagnoletti had an extensive career in law, primarily focusing on trusts and estates. He served as the Principal Law Clerk to Surrogate Rita Mella, his predecessor on the New York County Surrogate's Court bench. His experience in this role provided him with significant insight into the court's operations and the specific legal areas it handles, which include wills, trusts, estates, guardianships, and adoptions.

Judicial Role As a Surrogate Court Judge, Spagnoletti presides over cases involving the probate of wills, the administration of estates, contested estates, and other matters pertaining to the property of deceased persons. The court also handles guardianships for minors and incapacitated adults, as well as adoptions.

Education Judge Spagnoletti earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from St. John's University School of Law. He completed his undergraduate studies, receiving a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree, also from St. John's University.
