Robert Henry "Robbie" Smith (born 21 December 1956) is a former New Zealand first-class cricketer who played for Wellington from the 1974–75 season to 1986–87. A right-handed middle-order batsman and occasional right-arm medium-fast bowler, Smith was a consistent performer for the Wellington Firebirds throughout his career.
Smith made his first-class debut for Wellington at the age of 18. Over his career, he played 75 first-class matches, scoring 3,695 runs at an average of 31.85, which included four centuries and 20 half-centuries. His highest first-class score was 142. He also contributed with the ball, taking 23 wickets with his right-arm medium-fast bowling, with best figures of 3 for 50.
In List A (one-day) cricket, Smith participated in 41 matches, accumulating 889 runs at an average of 25.40, with three half-centuries. He also claimed 10 wickets in the limited-overs format.
Smith was a significant member of the Wellington team that won the Plunket Shield, New Zealand's premier first-class competition, in the 1980–81 season. He was also part of the Wellington side that secured the Shell Trophy (the national one-day competition) in the 1985–86 season. While he did not play international cricket for New Zealand, he was a respected and reliable figure in the domestic cricketing scene. Following his playing career, Smith remained involved in local cricket in various capacities.
