Roar of the Press is a 1941 American comedy drama crime film directed by Phil Rosen and starring Jean Parker, Wallace Ford, and Suzanne Kaaren. It was produced and distributed as a second feature by Monogram Pictures.
Plot: The story follows newlyweds Wally Williams, a hotshot reporter for the Globe, and his small-town wife Alice. Shortly after their marriage, a body falls from a building, and Wally steals the identification and calls in the story to his editor. A personal ad leads Wally to a second corpse, drawing the attention of the police and angering rival reporters. An anti-American organization kidnaps Wally and later Alice when he refuses to reveal his sources. They are rescued by Sparrow McGraun, a numbers racket operator who favors Wally over the foreign evildoers. In gratitude, Wally gives the scoop to every paper except the Globe.
