Rick Lalonde

Rick Lalonde is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins, and Calgary Flames.

Born on January 25, 1970, in Toronto, Ontario, Lalonde played his junior hockey career with the North Bay Centennials in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) from 1986 to 1990. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 10th round, 194th overall, in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft.

Lalonde made his NHL debut with the Penguins during the 1990–91 season, playing 11 games. He spent the majority of his early professional career in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Muskegon Lumberjacks and Cleveland Lumberjacks. He later played 16 games for the Boston Bruins in the 1993–94 season and 20 games for the Calgary Flames in the 1996–97 season.

Beyond his NHL stints, Lalonde had an extensive career in various minor leagues, including the AHL and International Hockey League (IHL). He also played professionally in Europe, notably in Germany for teams like the Kölner Haie and Frankfurt Lions, and in the United Kingdom for the Sheffield Steelers. His professional playing career spanned from 1990 to 2004.
