Richard Terrill

Richard Terrill is an American poet, essayist, and saxophonist. He has published multiple collections of poetry and nonfiction works that explore themes such as nature, music, and the Midwestern United States. Terrill has taught creative writing and literature at several institutions, most notably at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, where he served as a professor of English and director of the college’s writing program. In addition to his literary activities, he is an active performing musician, playing primarily the alto saxophone in jazz and improvisational ensembles. His contributions to contemporary American poetry and his interdisciplinary work linking music and literature have been recognized in literary journals and anthologies.
