Ri Chol-myong (Korean: 리철명; born 18 February 1988 in Pyongyang, North Korea) is a North Korean international football (soccer) player who plays as a midfielder.
Career
Ri Chol-myong has spent his entire senior club career with Pyongyang City in the DPR Korea League, having joined the club in 2006. He wears the number 8 shirt.
International career
Ri Chol-myong represented the North Korean national team from 2007 to 2016, earning 44 caps. He was part of North Korea's 23-man squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
He scored his first international goal on 19 February 2010 against Kyrgyzstan in the 2010 AFC Challenge Cup, a match North Korea won 4–0. He scored a total of five international goals, including strikes against Yemen (friendly, 2010), Kuwait (friendly, 2010), India (2012 AFC Challenge Cup), and Hong Kong (2015 EAFF East Asian Cup).
Ri Chol-myong was also part of the North Korean squad at the 2010 Asian Games, where the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals by the United Arab Emirates in a penalty shoot-out (8–9), with Ri missing the decisive penalty.
