Reem Acra

Reem Acra (Arabic: ريم عقرة; born 8 February 1970) is a Lebanese fashion designer best known for her luxury bridal and ready‑to‑wear collections. She founded the eponymous label in 1989, which has since expanded to include couture, accessories, and a perfume line, with boutiques and shop‑in‑shop locations in major cities worldwide.

Early life and education
Acra was born in Beirut, Lebanon, to a family involved in the textile industry. She began studying fashion at the American University of Beirut, then transferred to the Royal College of Art in London, where she earned a Master of Arts in Fashion Design in 1992. In 1995 she opened a boutique in Paris, and in 2000 she relocated her primary operations to New York City, establishing a studio and showroom on Madison Avenue.

Acra’s bridal collections are noted for detailed beadwork, hand‑embroidered motifs, and use of fine fabrics such as silk, tulle, and lace. Her ready‑to‑wear lines feature a modern aesthetic with influences from her Lebanese heritage, often employing bold colors, sculptural cuts, and luxurious materials.
