Ray Vandeveer

Ray L. Vandeveer (born c. 1947) is an American Republican politician who served as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives and as Mayor of Fairborn, Ohio.

Early Life and Education Ray Vandeveer was born around 1947 and grew up in Fairborn, Ohio. He graduated from Fairborn High School. He later pursued higher education, attending both Miami University and Wright State University. Prior to his political career, Vandeveer was involved in business, notably owning and operating a landscaping company.

Political Career

  • Mayor of Fairborn (1987–1991): Vandeveer began his significant public service career as the Mayor of Fairborn, Ohio. During his tenure, he was involved in local governance and community development initiatives for the city.
  • Ohio House of Representatives (1993–2000): After serving as mayor, Vandeveer was elected to the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 73rd District. He served four consecutive terms, from 1993 to 2000.
