Rasskazovka

Rasskazovka (Russian: Рассказовка) is a name primarily associated with a district and a Moscow Metro station located within the Novomoskovsky Administrative Okrug of Moscow, Russia. It represents one of the newer territories that were incorporated into the city of Moscow during its 2012 expansion.

Metro Station

The Rasskazovka Metro Station is a significant landmark and transportation hub for the area. Opened on September 6, 2018, it serves as the southwestern terminus of the Sokolnicheskaya Line (Line 1) of the Moscow Metro. The station's design is notable for its unique architectural concept, which draws inspiration from a library or reading room. Its interior features concrete columns sculpted to resemble stacks of books, while lighting elements are arranged to evoke reading lamps. This artistic theme reflects a focus on knowledge and culture. The station plays a crucial role in connecting the expanding residential areas of Novomoskovsky Administrative Okrug with central Moscow.

District and Development

The district of Rasskazovka is part of the larger Vnukovskoye settlement within the Novomoskovsky Administrative Okrug. Prior to its integration into Moscow, the area was largely rural. Following the administrative changes in 2012 and particularly with the extension of the Moscow Metro, Rasskazovka has experienced rapid urbanization and development. It is characterized by the construction of numerous modern residential complexes, along with accompanying social infrastructure such as schools, clinics, and commercial facilities. The development efforts aim to create a self-sufficient and well-connected urban environment for its growing population. Its strategic location at the end of a major metro line has made it an attractive area for new housing and community building.
