Ranjith Balakrishnan, commonly known simply as Ranjith, is an Indian film director, screenwriter, producer, and actor who works predominantly in Malayalam cinema.

Born on 5 September 1964 in Balussery, Kozhikode, Kerala, Ranjith began his career in the film industry as a screenwriter in the late 1980s. He wrote scripts for several notable Malayalam films before making his directorial debut with Ravanaprabhu (2001), a sequel to the popular film Devasuram.
