Randall McDaniel

Randall McDaniel (born August 9 1964) is an American former professional football player who played as an offensive guard in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons, primarily with the Minnesota Vikings. He is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Overview
McDaniel attended the University of Tennessee, where he was a consensus All-American and won the Outland Trophy (1987) as the nation’s best interior lineman. Selected 19th overall in the first round of the 1988 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, he became a cornerstone of the team’s offensive line. Over his career he earned nine consecutive Pro Bowl selections (1990‑1998) and was named a First‑team All‑Pro five times. After his tenure with the Vikings, he played three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before retiring in 2001. In 2009, McDaniel was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and his jersey number 79 was retired by the Vikings in 2015.
