Rajindra Campbell is a Jamaican shot putter and track and field athlete. He was born on January 22, 1995, in Saint Catherine Parish, Jamaica. Campbell competes internationally for Jamaica and has represented the country in multiple global athletics competitions, including the World Athletics Championships and the Commonwealth Games.
He won the gold medal in the shot put at the 2022 World Athletics Championships held in Eugene, Oregon, becoming the first Jamaican man to win a world title in a throwing event. Campbell also secured gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. He has been recognized for transitioning from basketball to athletics during his college years in the United States, where he attended Northern Oklahoma College and later transferred to the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).
Campbell is known for his rapid progression in the sport and has achieved personal bests exceeding 22.50 meters in the shot put.
He continues to compete on the international stage as of 2024 and is considered one of Jamaica's leading field athletes.
