Rachel Brosnahan

Rachel Brosnahan (born July 12 1990) is an American actress. She gained international recognition for her portrayal of Miriam "Midge" Maisel in the Amazon Prime Video series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017–2023), a performance that earned her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (2019) and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy (2018).

Early life and education
Brosnahan was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to parents who were both teachers. She attended the Milwaukee High School of the Arts, where she began studying drama. She later enrolled at the Juilliard School in New York City, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama.

Career

Theatre
After completing her formal training, Brosnahan performed in a number of stage productions, including the Off‑Broadway play The Women (2014) and the Broadway revival of A View from the Bridge (2015).

Television
Brosnahan's early television work included recurring roles on series such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2011), The Good Wife (2012), and House of Cards (2014).
