RCBC Plaza

RCBC Plaza is a prominent office skyscraper complex located in the Makati Central Business District of Metro Manila, Philippines. It serves as the headquarters for the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) and is owned and developed by RCBC Land, a joint venture between the Yuchengco Group of Companies and GIC Private Limited.

The complex consists of two main buildings: the Yuchengco Tower, which stands at approximately 192 meters (630 feet) with 46 stories, and Tower 2, which stands at approximately 170 meters (558 feet) with 41 stories. The towers are connected by a three-level podium that houses a variety of commercial and cultural facilities.

Architecturally, the project was a collaboration between the international firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) and the Philippine-based firm W.V. Coscolluela & Associates. Completed in 2001, the design features a modern aesthetic with an exterior primarily composed of glass and granite. It is situated on a 1.5-hectare plot at the corner of Ayala Avenue and Senator Gil J. Puyat Avenue (Buendia).

RCBC Plaza is notable for housing several specialized facilities beyond corporate offices. These include:

  • The Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium: A 450-seat theater used for performing arts, corporate events, and cultural presentations.
  • The Yuchengco Museum: A museum dedicated to showcasing the art collection and historical memorabilia of the Yuchengco family, as well as contemporary art exhibitions.
  • The Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel: A place of worship located within the podium level.

The complex was designated as an Information Technology Zone by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), providing tax incentives to IT-related businesses operating within its premises. It also incorporates various sustainable management systems for energy efficiency and security.
