The species was described by the entomologist Stephan von Breuning in 1938.

Description
Members of the genus Pterolophia are characterized by elongated bodies and antennae that are often as long as or longer than the body. Specific morphological details for P. perakensis are limited in publicly available sources, but typical diagnostic features of the genus include a robust pronotum with spines or tubercles and elytra bearing fine punctate textures.

Distribution

Habitat
