The album was released during the band's early period when they operated as a three-piece (Darrell Tauro on vocals/bass, Justin Mehl on vocals/guitar, and Andy Nelson on drums). It is considered part of the Christian metal scene of the mid-2000s. Wrench in the Works went on to release two more studio albums — Lost Art of Heaping Coal (2008) and Decrease/Increase (2010) — before disbanding later that year.
