Preben Lundbye

Career

Lundbye began his senior career in Denmark with Esbjerg fB. He was a prolific goalscorer for the club, becoming their top scorer in 1970 and again in 1974. His strong performances in the Danish league attracted attention from clubs abroad.

In 1975, Lundbye moved to Germany to play for FC St. Pauli, who were then in the 2. Bundesliga Nord. He played a significant role in the team that achieved promotion to the Bundesliga for the 1977–78 season. Lundbye featured in Germany's top flight during that season, playing against some of the country's biggest clubs before St. Pauli were relegated.

After his spell in Germany, Lundbye returned to Denmark, playing for Aalborg BK (AaB) and later for Næstved IF before concluding his professional career.
