Pour Sacha (English title: For Sasha) is a 1991 French romantic drama film directed by Alexandre Arcady. It was released in France on 10 April 1991 and runs for 114 minutes.
Synopsis
Set in Israel in 1967 on the eve of the Six-Day War, the film follows Laura (Sophie Marceau), a former violinist from Paris who now lives in a kibbutz with Sacha (Richard Berry), a former philosophy professor turned Israeli paratrooper. Three childhood friends from Paris—Simon, Michel, and Paul—arrive to celebrate Laura's twentieth birthday, all still in love with her. During the celebration, Simon confronts Laura about the suicide of Myriam, a mutual friend who was also in love with Sacha. The Six-Day War breaks out, and Sacha is deployed. He is killed in combat at the Western Wall. At his funeral, David Malka (Gérard Darmon), Myriam's brother, delivers Myriam's final letter addressed "Pour Sacha," which Laura throws unread onto the coffin.
