Porto do Son is a municipality (concello) located in the province of A Coruña, within the autonomous community of Galicia in north‑western Spain.

Porto do Son lies on the Atlantic coast, forming part of the Ría de Muros e Noia estuarine system. The municipality belongs to the comarca (county) of Noia and spans an area of roughly 84 km². According to the 2021 census, its population was about 8 000 residents, most of whom speak Galician alongside Spanish. The municipal seat is the town of Porto do Son, and the municipality includes several coastal villages, notably the fishing port of Portosín and the seaside resorts of Patos and Razo.

Etymology/Origin
The name “Porto do Son” comes from Galician, in which porto means “port”. The element son is less certain; it may derive from a personal name or from an older Galician term related to “sound” or “harbor”. Accurate information on the precise origin of son is not confirmed.
