Ponte Lungo (Rome Metro)

Ponte Lungo is an underground station on Line A of the Rome Metro. It is located in the Appio Latino quarter, beneath Piazza di Ponte Lungo, a busy intersection and commercial area south-east of the city centre. The station takes its name from the adjacent Ponte Lungo ("Long Bridge") which historically spanned the now-undergrounded Almone river.

The station opened on February 16, 1980, as part of the inaugural section of Line A between Anagnina and Ottaviano. Ponte Lungo serves a densely populated residential area and provides access to numerous shops, businesses, and local markets. It is also a convenient interchange point for several bus routes.

The station features standard Metro A design, with two tracks and a central platform accessible via stairs, escalators and elevators. The interior design is functional, typical of stations built during the initial phase of the Rome Metro system.
