Planet Online

Planet Online was a United Kingdom–based internet service provider (ISP) that operated primarily in the late 1990s. The company was founded in 1995 and offered dial‑up and early broadband connectivity services to residential and business customers. It was notable for being one of the first ISPs to provide broadband access via Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) technology in the UK market.

In 2000, Planet Online was acquired by the Italian telecommunications firm Tiscali, which integrated the brand into its UK operations. Following the acquisition, the Planet Online brand was gradually phased out, and its services were rebranded under the Tiscali name. By the mid‑2000s, the original Planet Online entity ceased to exist as an independent provider.
