Pierpaolo Piccioli is an Italian fashion designer best known for his role as the creative director of the luxury fashion house Valentino.

Born on 20 May 1967 in Como, Italy, Piccioli studied fashion design at the Accademia di Moda in Milan. He began his professional career working for Benetton before joining Valentino in 1999, initially overseeing the brand’s accessories line. In 2008 he was appointed co‑creative director of Valentino alongside Maria Grazia Chiuri, a partnership that lasted until Chiuri’s departure in 2016. Following this, Piccioli became the sole creative director, guiding the label’s collections and brand identity until his departure in 2023. Under his direction, Valentino received critical acclaim for revitalising its historic aesthetic while introducing contemporary elements, and the house earned multiple industry awards, including the CFDA International Award (2022).
