- Auguste Piccard (1884–1962) – A physicist, aeronaut, balloonist, and hydronaut. In 1931, he became the first person to reach the stratosphere, ascending to an altitude of 15,781 meters in a balloon with a pressurized cabin, an invention he pioneered. He also invented the bathyscaphe, a deep-sea submersible. His appearance is said to have inspired Hergé's character Professor Calculus in The Adventures of Tintin.
- Jean Felix Piccard (1884–1963) – A chemist, balloonist, and aeronautical engineer; twin brother of Auguste Piccard.
- Jeannette Piccard (1895–1981) – Wife of Jean Felix Piccard. An aeronaut and balloonist who, in 1934, piloted a stratospheric balloon flight, becoming the first woman to reach the stratosphere. She later became an aerospace consultant and one of the first women ordained as an Episcopal priest.
- Jacques Piccard (1922–2008) – Son of Auguste Piccard. A hydronaut and oceanographer. In 1960, alongside U.S. Navy Lieutenant Don Walsh, he descended to the bottom of the Mariana Trench (the Challenger Deep) in the bathyscaphe Trieste, reaching a depth of approximately 10,916 meters — a record that remains unmatched by any crewed vessel for decades.
- Don Piccard (born 1926) – Son of Jean Felix and Jeannette Piccard. A balloonist and entrepreneur who founded Don Piccard Balloons.
- Bertrand Piccard (born 1958) – Son of Jacques Piccard. An aeronaut, psychiatrist, and environmentalist. In 1999, he and Brian Jones completed the first non-stop balloon circumnavigation of the globe in the Breitling Orbiter 3. In 2015–2016, he and André Borschberg completed the first round-the-world solar-powered flight in the aircraft Solar Impulse 2. He is the founder and chairman of the Solar Impulse Foundation.
