Petrohan Pass (Bulgarian: Петрохански проход, Petrohanski prohod) is a mountain pass in the Balkan Mountains (Stara Planina) in Bulgaria. It connects the capital city of Sofia with the town of Montana in northwestern Bulgaria. The pass lies at an elevation of approximately 1,407–1,444 meters (4,616–4,738 feet) above sea level and spans about 24–41 kilometers along national road II-81 (Route 81), depending on the measured section.
The pass is part of Pan-European Corridor IV and represents the shortest overland route between Sofia and northwestern Bulgaria, and onward to Romania (particularly since the opening of the Vidin–Calafat Bridge). Due to its narrow road, expansion has been proposed, including the possible construction of a tunnel.
The closest villages are Barziya and Gintsi. The pass lies between the Koznitsa and Berkovska Planina mountains within the Western Stara Planina range.
