Petr Rada

Petr Rada (born 21 August 1958) is a Czech professional football manager and former player. Primarily a central defender during his playing career, he is widely recognized for his extensive coaching career, which includes managing the Czech Republic national team.

Playing Career

Rada began his football career as a defender, spending the majority of his playing days with Dukla Prague in Czechoslovakia. With Dukla, he achieved significant success, including winning the Czechoslovak First League title multiple times during the late 1970s and 1980s. He also had a spell abroad, playing for Fortuna Düsseldorf in the German Bundesliga. Internationally, Rada represented the Czechoslovakia national team, earning a number of caps.

Managerial Career

After retiring as a player, Rada transitioned into management, embarking on a long and varied coaching career predominantly within the Czech Republic.

During this period, he oversaw the team's initial matches in the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign. He was ultimately dismissed after a string of disappointing results left the team struggling in their qualification group.
