Peter William Fay (born 1948) is an American legal scholar, historian, and professor best known for his extensive research on the evolution of the legal profession in the United States, particularly in Texas. He has authored several influential books and articles on legal history, professional ethics, and the intersection of law and literature. Fay is a Professor of Law at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, where he also serves as the Director of the Center for Legal History.
