Perimeter Mall

Perimeter Mall is a regional shopping center located in Dunwoody, Georgia, United States, a suburb of Atlanta. The mall opened in August 1971 and was originally developed by The Rouse Company. It is situated at the intersection of Interstate 285 (the “Perimeter”) and Georgia State Route 400, adjacent to the Perimeter Center business district.

The property is currently owned and managed by Simon Property Group, one of the largest retail real‑estate companies in North America. The mall comprises approximately 1.7 million square feet (about 158,000 m²) of gross leasable area and hosts more than 150 retail stores, restaurants, and service establishments.

Anchor tenants

  • Macy’s (originally opened as Rich’s in 1974; rebranded to Macy’s in 2005)
  • Dillard’s (opened in 2005)
  • Nordstrom (opened in 2007)

Former anchors have included Sears, which closed its Perimeter Mall location in 2020, and JCPenney, which closed in 2022.

The mall features a modernized interior that includes a food court, upscale fashion boutiques, and a cinema. Public transportation is provided by the MARTA Red Line, with the nearby Dunwoody station serving the facility. Parking is available via a multi‑level garage and surface lots.

Perimeter Mall has undergone several renovation and expansion projects since its opening, aimed at updating its architecture, expanding retail space, and enhancing the shopper experience. These improvements have helped maintain its status as a prominent retail destination in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
