Paul Glatzel

Paul Glatzel (born 29 March 2001) is a German professional footballer who plays as a forward for [[Blackpool F.C.|Blackpool]].

Born in [[Liverpool]], England, Glatzel began his football career in the academy of [[Liverpool F.C.]] He progressed through the youth ranks at Anfield, where he was highly regarded for his goal-scoring prowess. He notably captained Liverpool's U18 team to victory in the [[FA Youth Cup]] during the 2018–19 season, scoring in the final.

Glatzel signed his first professional contract with Liverpool in 2019. Despite his promising youth career, his development was hindered by injuries, including a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury suffered in the summer of 2019.

To gain first-team experience, Glatzel undertook several loan spells:

  • [[Tranmere Rovers F.C.]] (2021–2022): He spent the 2021–22 season on loan at Tranmere Rovers in [[EFL League Two]], where he made his professional debut and established himself as a regular in the squad.
  • [[Swindon Town F.C.]] (2023–2024, loan): In January 2024, Glatzel joined Swindon Town on loan for the remainder of the 2023–24 season.

In the summer of 2024, Glatzel made a permanent move to [[Blackpool F.C.]], signing with the [[EFL League One]] club.

Glatzel has represented [[Germany national youth football team|Germany]] at various youth international levels, including the U18 and U19 teams, qualifying through his German parents.
