Paul Beisman (c. 1898–1964) was an American theatre manager and executive who played a significant role in the cultural history of St. Louis, Missouri, particularly in the development of the Municipal Opera Association (The Muny) and the American Theatre.
Beisman began his career in the theatrical industry as a press agent. He joined the staff of the Municipal Opera in 1919, the year of its founding. After serving as the organization's publicity director, he was appointed general manager in 1933. He held this position until his retirement in 1958. During his tenure, Beisman is credited with helping to establish the Muny as a major national venue for outdoor musical theatre, overseen by a period of growth and financial stability.
In addition to his administrative role at the Muny, Beisman served as the manager of the American Theatre in St. Louis for over three decades. In this capacity, he acted as a prominent booking agent and promoter, bringing numerous Broadway touring productions and high-profile performers to the region.
Beisman was recognized within the professional theatre community for his expertise in management and promotion. He was a member of the League of New York Theatres and was involved in various industry organizations throughout his career. He died in 1964.
