Patrick Rouble

Patrick Rouble (born May 18, 1983) is a former Canadian long track speed skater. He represented Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, competing in sprint distances.

Early Life and Career

Rouble was born in Nepean, Ontario (now part of Ottawa). He developed as a speed skater through the Canadian national system, eventually specializing in the shorter distances of long track speed skating, including the 500-meter, 1000-meter, and 1500-meter races. Throughout his career, he competed in various national championships and on the international World Cup circuit, gaining experience against top competitors.

Olympic Participation

Rouble's most notable achievement was his selection to the Canadian Olympic team for the 2006 Winter Olympics. During the Games, he participated in two events:

  • 500 meters: He finished 26th overall in the two-race combined time.
  • 1000 meters: He placed 30th in the event.

Post-Olympic Career and Retirement

After the 2006 Olympics, Rouble continued to compete for several seasons, maintaining his presence on the World Cup circuit. He officially announced his retirement from competitive speed skating in 2010.
