Patricia C. Fawsett (born 1943) is a Senior United States District Judge of the United United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She was appointed to the federal bench by President Ronald Reagan in 1986 and took senior status in 2007.
Early Life and Education
Patricia C. Fawsett was born in 1943. She pursued her higher education at the University of Florida, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in 1965. She continued her legal studies at the University of Florida College of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 1968.
Legal Career
Following her graduation from law school, Fawsett entered private legal practice. From 1968 until her judicial appointment in 1986, she worked in private practice in Orlando, Florida. Her legal career prior to her appointment to the federal judiciary involved various aspects of law.
Federal Judicial Service
President Ronald Reagan nominated Patricia C. Fawsett to a seat on the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida on June 6, 1986, to fill a new seat authorized by 98 Stat. 333. She was confirmed by the United States Senate on August 15, 1986, and received her judicial commission on August 21, 1986. Her chambers are located in Orlando, Florida.
Judge Fawsett served as an active district judge for over two decades. She assumed senior status on November 29, 2007, continuing to handle a reduced caseload as a senior judge.
