History

The history of Paszowa is closely linked to the broader history of Galicia, a region that was historically part of the Austrian Empire before regaining independence as part of Poland. Like many villages in this border region, Paszowa has experienced various historical events, including shifts in national borders, especially during the partitions of Poland and after World War II. The area was historically inhabited by diverse ethnic groups, including Poles and Boykos (a Ukrainian ethnographic group). Significant population movements and resettlements occurred in the mid-20th century, particularly following the post-war changes and the "Akcja Wisła" operation. Historically, the local economy was primarily agrarian, based on farming and forestry.
