Etymology The genus name Paracorupella combines the prefix "para-" (meaning "near" or "alongside") with Corupella, a related genus of longhorn beetles, indicating its close taxonomic relationship to that group. The species epithet pallida is Latin for "pale," likely referring to the coloration of the beetle.
