Paloalto (band)

Paloalto was an American indie rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in the early 2000s. The group was led by vocalist and guitarist James Grundler. Paloalto released a self‑titled EP in 2000, followed by a full‑length album, Paloalto, later that year. A second album, The Rise, was issued in 2004.

The band’s music was characterized by melodic guitar work and emotive lyrics, and several tracks were featured in television series such as The O.C. and One Tree Hill. Paloalto disbanded in the mid‑2000s; Grundler subsequently became the frontman of the band Golden State.

Members of Paloalto included:

  • James Grundler – vocals, guitar
  • Stephen James – bass (later replaced by other musicians)
  • Additional personnel varied over the band's active years.

Paloalto’s releases were distributed through independent labels, and the band garnered modest critical attention within the indie rock scene of the early 2000s.
