Pérez Zeledón is one of the 82 cantons of Costa Rica, situated in the southern part of the San José Province. The canton's administrative center is the city of San Isidro de El General.
Geography
- Area: Approximately 1,905 km², making it one of the larger cantons in the country.
- Location: Bordered by the Talamanca mountain range to the east and the Central Valley to the north. It lies within the Río General watershed, with the General River flowing through the capital.

History
- The canton was created on 9 March 1931 by decree of President Cleto González Víquez, named in honor of former President Jorge Pérez Zeledón (President of the Legislative Assembly in 1919).
- The region was originally inhabited by indigenous peoples, notably the Bribri and Cabécar, before Spanish colonization and subsequent agricultural settlement.
