Oliver Ford Davies

Oliver Ford Davies (born 28 August 1939) is an English actor and theatre scholar. He is recognised for his extensive work on the stage, particularly with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre, and for his appearances in film, television and radio productions.

Early life and education

Oliver Ford Davies was born in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England. He attended St Catharine’s College, Cambridge, where he read English. He later pursued postgraduate studies, earning a doctorate in drama with a focus on 18th‑century English theatre.

Davies has been a regular performer with major British theatre companies.
