Bielkova earned her doctorate in economics from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, specializing in macroeconomics and industrial policy. Early in her career she worked as a researcher at the Institute for Economic Research (IER) in Kyiv, contributing to analyses of Ukraine’s transition economy and European integration. Etymology/Origin
The given name “Olga” is of Old Norse origin (derived from “Helga,” meaning “holy” or “blessed”) and entered the Slavic naming tradition through Byzantine cultural influence. The surname “Bielkova” (Ukrainian: Біелкова) is a feminine form of “Bielkov,” which is derived from the Slavic root “biel/white,” possibly indicating ancestral association with a characteristic such as “fair-haired” or a toponymic origin from a place named after the word “white.”
