Ohio State Route 744 (SR 744) is a short east–west state highway located entirely within the city of Middletown in Butler County, Ohio. With a total length of approximately 0.44 miles (0.71 km), it serves as an urban connector between two larger state highways.
The route's western terminus is located at an intersection with State Route 122 (North Verity Parkway). From this point, SR 744 travels eastward along Tytus Avenue through a corridor containing both commercial and residential structures. The highway reaches its eastern terminus at an intersection with State Route 4 (Germantown Road).
SR 744 was commissioned in 1937. Since its inception, the route has maintained its original alignment and length within Middletown. Due to its short distance and location within a developed urban area, the highway is maintained by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) as part of the state's secondary highway system, primarily functioning to facilitate traffic transitions between the north-south SR 4 and the east-west SR 122.
