Obsteig is a municipality in the Imst district in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It is located approximately 15 km northeast of Imst and about 3 km above the village of Mötz, situated on the Mieminger Plateau at an elevation of 991 m (3,251 ft) above sea level.

Geography
Obsteig lies on the Mieminger Plateau, above the Upper Inn Valley (Oberinntal), at the foot of the Mieminger Gebirge (Mieming Mountains). The municipality consists of scattered villages and hamlets spread across the plateau. At its western end, near the 1,119 m high Holzleitensattel, the plateau drops steeply into the Gurgltal valley. The main village of Obsteig is situated along the Mieminger Straße road.
Economy & Tourism
The area is a popular destination for both winter and summer tourism. In winter, it is known for skiing, while in summer it offers extensive hiking trails, three viewing platforms with panoramic views, and numerous places to stop for refreshments. The region enjoys a sunny microclimate.
