Ntombikayise Twala (born June 10, 1970), widely known by her married name Connie Ferguson, is a prominent South African actress, filmmaker, producer, and businesswoman. She is best known for her roles as Karabo Moroka on the long-running SABC1 soap opera Generations and as Harriet Khoza on the Mzansi Magic telenovela The Queen, which she also co-produced.
Early Life and Education
Ntombikayise Twala was born on June 10, 1970, in Kimberley, Northern Cape, South Africa, to parents Fish Masilo and Margaret Twala. She spent part of her childhood and youth in Botswana before pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.Career
Ferguson's career in acting began in the early 1990s. She rose to national prominence and became a household name with her iconic role as Karabo Moroka on the popular South African soap opera Generations, which she joined in 1994. She portrayed the character for 16 years, departing the show in 2010. She briefly reprised her role in 2014 before making her final exit in 2016.In 2010, Ferguson co-founded Ferguson Films, a television production company, with her late husband, Shona Ferguson. The company has since produced several highly successful television series and telenovelas, including Rockville, Igazi, The Gift, The Throne, and The Queen.
In 2016, she took on the lead role of Harriet Khoza in The Queen, a telenovela produced by Ferguson Films.
