Norval Olsen

Norval Elmore Olsen (December 3, 1888 – January 11, 1965) was an American professional baseball player who briefly appeared as a pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Boston Braves in 1913.

Born in Seattle, Washington, Olsen began his professional baseball career in the minor leagues. He played for various teams, including the Spokane Indians and the Portland Beavers, primarily in the Pacific Coast League, where he developed as a pitcher.

Olsen's major league career was limited to two games played for the Boston Braves during the 1913 season. He made his MLB debut on September 14, 1913. In his two appearances, he pitched a total of 9.0 innings, registering no wins or losses and an earned run average (ERA) of 2.00. Despite his solid ERA in his limited major league time, he did not play in MLB again after that season.

Following his short tenure in the major leagues, Olsen continued to play minor league baseball for several more years before retiring from professional play. He died in Seattle, Washington, at the age of 76.
