Nokia N96

The Nokia N96 was a high-end smartphone announced by Nokia in February 2008 and released in September 2008. It was a successor to the Nokia N95 and part of Nokia's Nseries line of multimedia-focused devices.

The N96 ran on the Symbian OS v9.3 operating system with S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 user interface. Key features included a dual-slider design, allowing access to multimedia controls in one direction and a numeric keypad in the other. It boasted a large internal memory of 16GB, expandable via a microSD card slot.

Other notable specifications of the Nokia N96 included a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, and a dual LED flash. It supported video recording, GPS navigation, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The device also featured a DVB-H receiver for mobile TV broadcasting (availability varied by region).

The Nokia N96 was marketed as a multimedia powerhouse, capable of handling music, videos, photos, and mobile TV. It aimed to provide a converged mobile experience for entertainment and communication. Despite its advanced features, it faced competition from emerging touchscreen devices and was ultimately superseded by newer models in Nokia's lineup.
