Nobuko Kawano

Political Career

Nobuko Kawano was elected to the House of Representatives in the 1996 general election, representing the Miyazaki 1st district. She ran as a candidate for the Liberal Democratic Party, one of Japan's dominant conservative political parties. Her term in the Diet commenced in October 1996 and concluded in June 2000. Kawano sought re-election in the 2000 general election but was not successful in retaining her seat, which marked the end of her career in national politics.

Later Life

Following her departure from the House of Representatives in 2000, Kawano largely retired from the national political stage.
