Nikom Rayawa

Nikom Rayawa (Thai: นิคม รายยวา; RTGS: Ni‑khom Raiyawa; born 1944 in Sukhothai, Thailand) is a Thai novelist. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Thammasat University, where he began his writing career and founded the university's first writers' group. In addition to his literary work, Rayawa has been employed in various sectors, including palm and cocoa plantations and the Thai petroleum industry.

Rayawa received the Southeast Asian Writers Award (S.E.A. Write Award) in 1988, recognizing his contributions to literature in the region. Among his works translated into English is High Banks, Heavy Logs, rendered by Richard C. Lair and published by Penguin Australia in 1991 (ISBN 0‑14‑014727‑6).
