Nicola Jane Carey (born 10 September 1993) is an Australian cricketer who plays for the national cricket team as an all-rounder, batting left-handed and bowling right-arm medium pace.
Early Life and Background
Born in Camperdown, New South Wales, Australia, Carey stands at 155 cm (5 ft 1 in). She made her domestic debut for her home team, the Lendlease Breakers (New South Wales).
Domestic Career
At the domestic level, Carey plays in the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) for Tasmania and in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) for the Hobart Hurricanes. Prior to 2019, she represented the New South Wales Breakers and the Sydney Thunder, respectively. She has also played in The Hundred for Welsh Fire (2022) and Northern Superchargers (2025), and joined Mumbai Indians in the Women's Premier League (WPL) from 2026.
International Career
Carey made her Women's One Day International (WODI) debut for Australia against India on 12 March 2018 (cap 137). Her Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) debut followed on 23 March 2018 against England.
She was a member of multiple ICC Women's T20 World Cup-winning squads (2018, 2020, 2026) and the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup-winning team. She also won a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
