Nico Sallach (born 31 May 1990) is a German vocalist and songwriter best known for his work as the clean vocalist and lyricist of the electronicore band Electric Callboy (formerly Eskimo Callboy). He was previously a founding member and co‑lead vocalist of the trance‑core group To the Rats and Wolves.
Early life and education
Sallach was born in Essen, Germany, and grew up as the eldest of three brothers. Before pursuing music full‑time, he trained as a gerontological nurse, specialising in extra‑clinical ventilation and caring for patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and multiple sclerosis.
Musical career
2009 – 2012: Early projects
Sallach first performed as the frontman of the Essen‑based band Through Your Veins in 2009.
2012 – 2020: To the Rats and Wolves
In 2012 he co‑founded the trance‑core band To the Rats and Wolves, serving as the clean vocalist alongside unclean vocalist Dixi Wu. The group released three studio albums—Neverland (2016), Dethroned (2016) and Cheap Love (2019)—and the EP Young.Used.Wasted. (2013) before disbanding in 2020.
2020 – present: Electric Callboy
Sallach joined Electric Callboy in 2020, replacing former vocalist Sebastian Biesler. He shares vocal duties with unclean vocalist Kevin Ratajczak, contributing clean vocals, melodic hooks, and lyric writing. Their first release with Sallach was the EP MMXX (2020), featuring the single “Hypa Hypa.” The band’s first full‑length album with him, Tekkno (2022), topped the German album charts for a week. Under his tenure the group’s sound has incorporated broader pop and electronic‑dance influences while retaining its metalcore roots.
