Nicholas "Nick" D'Agosto (born April 17, 1980) is an American actor. He began his career with a supporting role in the 1999 film Election and subsequently gained recognition for recurring television roles, notably as West Rosen on the second season of the NBC superhero series Heroes (2007) and as Hunter on the third season of the NBC sitcom The Office (2007).
Early life and education
D'Agosto was born in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Deanna Rae (née Vellinga) and Alan D'Agosto, a prominent Arby’s franchisee. He grew up in a Roman Catholic family, attending Creighton Preparatory School, from which he graduated in 1998. He then enrolled at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, earning a cum laude double major in history and theatre in 2002.
Career
After moving to Los Angeles in 2002, D'Agosto appeared in a variety of film and television projects. Early film work included supporting roles in Rocket Science (2007) and Extreme Movie (2008). He achieved a breakout performance as the lead in the teen sex comedy Fired Up! (2009). In the 2010s, D'Agosto starred in the supernatural horror film Final Destination 5 (2011) and had a supporting role in Dirty Girl (2010).
Transitioning primarily to television, he portrayed Dr. Ethan Haas in the first season of Showtime’s drama Masters of Sex (2013) and had a recurring, later regular, role as Harvey Dent/Two‑Face on the Fox series Gotham (2014–2016). From 2017 to 2018, he starred as Josh Segal in the NBC sitcom Trial & Error. Additional television credits include guest appearances on Boston Public, ER, Six Feet Under, Cold Case, House, Supernatural, and Without a Trace.
Personal life
D'Agosto married Andrea Bricco in 2015; the couple has one child.
